AHP produces critically reviewed documents called monographs that outline the quality control criteria needed for ensuring the identity, purity, and quality of botanical raw materials. Each document also presents a complete and critical review of the traditional and scientific literature regarding the efficacy and safety of herbal medicines.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>

Everything you want to know about the botanical and a whole bunch you do not want to know about it; botany, chemistry, harvesting, growing, drying, storage, purity standards, dosage, side effects, contraindications, drug interactions, etc.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>

For the past 3 years, AHP has been actively working on the development of 3 textbooks regarding the quality control of herbal products. AHP has also done contract work for organizations such as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Office of Dietary Supplements at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>

Mostly by independent fundraising to individuals, organizations, herbal product manufacturers, limited grants and contract work, and revenues generated from the sales of monographs and botanical\/chemical reference standards which are used for herbal products testing.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>

AHP has a worldwide network of botanists, chemists, herbalists, medical doctors, pharmacists, pharmacologists, and other experts in medicinal plants. They include university professors, practitioners, researchers, regulators, and experts in industry; most of their work is done on a volunteer basis.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>
