Roy Upton founded AHP in 1995 to bring the knowledge base of herbal medicine into one monograph system as a way to allay consumer and practitioner fears about using herbal medicines and to rebuild our cultural knowledge base about the value of herbal medicine to individual, community, societal, and environmental health. Cathirose Petrone has a MA in counseling psychology from National University, San Diego, CA and a BA in transpersonal psychology from Burlington College, Burlington, VT. Cathirose, who has trained in traditional naturopathy and has been with AHP almost since its inception, is in charge of reaching out to AHP members; providing AHP members with citations of research that are relevant to all aspects of herbal quality, research, and safety, which also feeds into the development of AHP\u2019s Herbal QRS Bulletin; and is an Associate Editor of AHP monographs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]

Lisa received her PhD in medical and nutritional ethnobotany via a joint program between the City University of New York and the New York Botanical Garden under the tutelage of noted ethnobotanist Dr. Michael Balick. Ingrid Bauer, MD is an integrative physician who emphasizes affordable, effective, culturally-appropriate therapies with her patients. She enjoys teaching herbal medicine to Western medical practitioners, and delights in sharing Western medical knowledge with the herbal community. Through practicing and teaching, she seeks to bridge conventional and alternative paradigms to expand access to holistic healthcare, especially for underserved communities.
